Gabriela Ortiz is a respiratory care practitioner with experience spanning acute care, critical care, sleep therapy, homecare, and pediatric respiratory management. She specializes in ventilator applications, clinical education, and multidisciplinary training for healthcare professionals. Gabriela is a frequent speaker at educational institutions and national conferences and has authored clinical articles and peer-reviewed publications on topics including ALS, neonatal tracheostomy, speaking valves, and respiratory care. She serves as a Clinical Specialist for Passy Muir, Inc.
Dr. Kristin King brings more than 25 years of experience across medical, academic, and industry settings. Her expertise focuses on neurological disorders, traumatic brain injury, dysphagia, tracheostomy, and mechanical ventilation. An internationally recognized educator, she regularly presents at conferences, publishes in peer-reviewed journals, and has served as an expert witness. Her work continues to advance evidence-based practice in medical speech-language pathology.
Devan Clark earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and provides acute care service across the lifespan, from the NICU to adult populations. She specializes in treating medically complex patients with tracheostomies, including those requiring ECMO, transplant, LVAD, trauma, and burn ICU care. Devan is passionate about educating patients, families, and healthcare teams on the clinical benefits and application of the Passy Muir® Valve.
Betsy Koster is an acute care speech-language pathologist with expertise in brain injury, dysphagia, and tracheostomy management. She has helped implement innovative clinical programs, including in-line Passy Muir® Valve use with mechanical ventilation and FEES services. She has authored peer-reviewed publications, contributed to a textbook, and presents nationally on dysphagia and tracheostomy care. She currently practices at Trinity Health while serving as a Clinical Specialist for Passy Muir, Inc.
Corey Mohnike is a registered respiratory therapist with extensive experience in trauma, rehabilitation, and mechanical ventilation. His unique perspective includes both professional expertise and personal experience using the Passy Muir® Valve following a tracheostomy. Corey has developed clinical protocols for ventilated patients, led multidisciplinary education programs, served in respiratory care leadership roles, and presents nationally on respiratory care and speaking valve application.
Tiffany Oakes is a medical speech-language pathologist with experience across acute care, home health, and medically complex pediatric settings. Her work includes developing patient care pathways, conducting research related to traumatic brain injury and sports concussion, and producing clinical education resources. She also volunteers with Remote Area Medical (RAM), providing healthcare services to underserved communities while supporting evidence-based education and clinical practice,
